Timor Trippers began in 2016 with a vision to promote sustainable and community-based tourism in our home country. Our group of experienced and energetic guides began as university students studying tourism who were passionate about organising camping, environmental conservation activity and trekking trips for other young nature-lovers. Having grown up in Timor Leste, we hold rich knowledge in history, culture, and forest medicine that we would love to share with you!

Our hearts are close to nature and culture. We believe that tourism should contribute to protecting our natural and cultural heritage by empowering local communities across Timor-Leste. This means that every activity organized by Timor Trippers will involve local cooks, guides, artisans, and businesses. We will ensure that:

We received permission and follow cultural rules before bringing you to sacred areas
We translate the history and stories directly from local knowledge keepers present at our activities and site visits
We leave the area as it was to protect and preserve our beautiful nature
