Timor Trippers began in 2016 with a vision to promote sustainable and community-based tourism in our home country. Our group of experienced and energetic guides began as university students studying tourism who were passionate about organising camping, environmental conservation activity and trekking trips for other young nature-lovers. Having grown up in Timor Leste, we hold rich knowledge in history, culture, and forest medicine that we would love to share with you!
Our hearts are close to nature and culture. We believe that tourism should contribute to protecting our natural and cultural heritage by empowering local communities across Timor-Leste. This means that every activity organized by Timor Trippers will involve local cooks, guides, artisans, and businesses. We will ensure that:
We received permission and follow cultural rules before bringing you to sacred areas
We translate the history and stories directly from local knowledge keepers present at our activities and site visits
We leave the area as it was to protect and preserve our beautiful nature
Timor Trippers are committed to caring for the environment, local people, and our international friends. Our trips are perfect for those as passionate about learning and exploration as we are!
To become the tour agency in sustainable and responsible community-based tourism, where we inspire visitors to explore, learn, and contribute to protect nature, preserve culture, and historical heritage, while also supporting the local economy in Timor-Leste.
We value Respect, Safety, and Responsibility to promote sustainable and responsible tourism practice throughout Timor-Leste. We thrive to:
1. Build meaningful connections between travelers and local communities
2. Create economic opportunities to support local livelihoods
3. Preserve and promote Timorese traditional, natural, and historical heritage
4. Provide safe and memorable travel experiences
Our team born and raised in Timor-Leste, our team is passionate about connecting visitors with our culture, communities, our native forest and breathtaking landscapes through genuine local experiences.
